Life insurance

Yes, you can still buy life insurance in your 70s and, with some companies, in your 80s. The most common options at these ages are final expense (burial) insurance and smaller whole life policies. Some companies also offer term life to people in their 70s, usually with shorter terms. Rates vary by age, health, state and plan.
Choices become more limited with age, so it helps to compare several companies.
It depends on the company. Many final expense plans accept applicants up to about age 85. A licensed agent can check which companies accept your age.
Not always. Many final expense plans use health questions instead of an exam, and guaranteed-issue plans ask no health questions.
It can be if you want to leave money for a funeral, bills or loved ones and you don’t have savings set aside. Compare the premiums with the benefit and your budget.
