Life Insurance for Seniors

Life insurance pays money to the people you choose when you pass away. For most seniors, the main options are final expense insurance and whole life insurance. A licensed agent can help you compare both by phone, in English or Spanish.

Which type of life insurance fits you?

Most seniors choose between two kinds of permanent coverage. Both can last for life as long as premiums are paid.

Final expense insurance

A smaller whole life policy meant to help your family pay for a funeral, burial or cremation, medical bills and other final costs.

Whole life insurance

Permanent coverage with premiums that generally stay level and a death benefit for the people you choose.

What affects the cost?

Life insurance rates vary by age, health, state and plan. There is no single price for everyone — that is why we compare options from several carriers for you.

Not sure how much you need?

Many families start with the cost of a funeral plus any debts or bills they don’t want to leave behind. We can walk through it with you by phone.

Life insurance questions

Can I get life insurance if I am over 70 or 80?

Yes, many carriers offer final expense and whole life coverage to people in their 70s and some into their 80s. Age limits, coverage amounts and rates depend on the carrier and your health.

What is the difference between life insurance and burial insurance?

Burial (final expense) insurance is a type of whole life insurance with a smaller benefit, meant for funeral and end-of-life costs. Traditional whole life policies usually offer larger amounts and can serve more purposes.

Do I need a medical exam?

It depends on the policy. Many final expense plans use health questions instead of an exam. Guaranteed-issue plans ask no health questions but usually include a waiting period before the full benefit is paid. We will explain the rules for each plan before you apply.
